Just 24 km from Landgoed Het Grote Zand is the scenic village of Dwingeloo. This village is internationally known for the radio telescope of the Dwingeloo Radio Observatory. This telescope is the oldest rotating radio telescope in the world. The radio telescope is located in a natural environment where you can enjoy beautiful views of various landscapes. You will find other breathtaking parks around Dwingeloo, such as Dwingelerveld National Park. The National Park is the largest contiguous wet heathland area of Western Europe. You can explore various hiking and cycling routes along a variety of landscapes and sheep herds here. Another beautiful nature reserve not to be missed during your holiday is the Leggelderveld nature reserve. 🧒 Are there any fun facilities for children at the park?

Absolutely. Children will not be bored in the indoor pool with a separate paddling pool, or in one of the numerous playgrounds or sports fields. You can hire a go-kart at our holiday park which will give the kids hours of fun. And let's not forget the Jungle Forest, where they can use up their energy in the middle of nature.

🐕 Are dogs allowed at Landgoed Het Grote Zand?

Yes, we offer pet-friendly holiday homes. Our holiday park is located in the Drenthe forests, where you can go for lovely walks with your dog. Our tip: very close to our holiday park, you will find dog-walking area Boswachterij Hooghalen which allows your dog to run without a leash all year round.
