In Drenthe, you will find an extensive network of hiking and bicycling routes that take you on a journey of discovery. Follow the different routes that run through beautiful woods, heathlands, and picturesque towns.  The real adventurer will undoubtedly spot a number of wild animals here during the hiking or bicycling trip through Drenthe's nature. 

Discover the fairylike trails of the Dwingelderveld, the largest wet heathland in Western Europe, where peat fluff and sundew bloom between the small ponds. Follow the old cart tracks of the Dolmens Route for a journey through time and come face to face with the historic stones. Hike along the Westerbork path past various historical monuments or bicycle the route to Westerbork camp and visit the memorial center. This route along the former transit camp will certainly impress you.

At Het Grote Zand, we offer the nicest facilities for children! Go for a splash in the indoor swimming pool or go on an adventure in the jungle forest. Is your child a real sports lover? With us, you can play sports on the soccer and volleyball field. Have fun at the playgrounds with sandboxes and have fun during the Children's Club's activities (only during school vacations).
