In this beautiful nature reserve, you can enjoy peace, space, and nature to the fullest. It is ideal for walks and bike rides. There are many routes that take you past fields, farms, winding streams, forests, and old villages. Take the time to discover all the beauty of Drentsche Aa National Park while staying at our holiday park.
An absolute favorite. You will walk along winding paths, over wooden walkways, and through heathlands. Keep your eyes peeled for the blue kingfisher.
This is a vast heathland with sand drifts and burial mounds. You will find the largest flock of sheep in Drenthe here.
The only archaeological reserve in the Netherlands. Here, you will find dolmens (D7 and D8), dozens of burial mounds, and the irregularly shaped "strubben" (small oak trees).

The most traveled route, where you cycle along winding streams and are surrounded by forests, heathland, and characteristic ash trees.
Drenthe and dolmens are inseparable. This route focuses on the archaeological heritage in the northern part of the Hondsrug, showing you 12 dolmens along the way.
The route can be divided into three sections of approximately 20 km. The route starts in front of the Kymmelsberg in Schipborg and leads via the Drentsche Aa stream valleys to the city of Groningen and back.

Yes, dogs are allowed in Drentsche Aa National Park, but there are a few rules. The dog must be kept on a leash in most parts of the park to avoid disturbing nature and wildlife. There are also designated off-leash areas where dogs can run freely.

The national park is a public natural area and is freely accessible year-round, usually from sunrise to sunset. The Drentsche Aa National Park visitor centre is open daily from 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. from 1 April through 31 October, and from 1 November through 31 March it is open from Tuesday through Sunday, from 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.
